If you have a round face and don’t like it, then you are in denial. Women’s faces come in a wide range of shapes and sizes. None of us can be the same. Celebrate your round face and wear it well. Choose the right hair styles that will compliment your hairdo so that you can feel more confident. If you want to camouflage your round face and not highlight it, you can try different hairstyles, which will create an illusion and instead of focusing on the roundness of the face, it focuses on the hair. Bear in mind, though, that when you choose a hairstyle, don’t just think about your round face, but the texture of your hair and your personality is as important.
Long hair is absolutely stunning on a round face woman. Why? Well, it elongates the face. If your face is round, the best haircut is one that is cut close to the face, a few inches below your chin or longer. Mila Kunis, for example, has a round face and wears her long hair frequently. She wears it wavy or straightened – and it still looks good both ways. The image on your left shows a woman with layered long hair and a round face. The layers add volume to her hair and acts as a silhouette to her round face. It gives a curtain effect to the face – making the face look narrower than it really is. You can add more versatility with a center part. You can also ask your hairstylist to layer it on the sides so that it creates an angle, hiding your jawline.
Just like the layers above, you can create a mix of short and long, choppy layers to hide your round face. The shorter layers should be cut below your ears and fall right at the chin, adding less body to the sides of the face. Blending the layers together as it is shown in the image will prevent your face from looking rounder.
Cameron Diaz has proven that a woman can have a round face and still wear a side-swept and angled bang that covers both ears and hides the forehead. She wears her bob well since bobs don’t usually suit women with round faces. However, the side-swept bang worn by Diaz shows that it can be done. The hair color makes it even better because it matches her skin tone.
Women who wear the hair with gentle waves use it to camouflage their round faces. In fact, the waves hide the roundness so that the waves look more natural. If you already have natural hair and don’t have to create waves, you will fare even better. Wash your hair and let it air dry to get that gentle wave or you can wrap your hair around a large curling iron to create the waves as the image shows to your left.
Updos can also be worn by gals with round faces, especially if you are going to a formal event. It looks trendy and sophisticated as Kate Upton’s did in this picture. Wearing the hair up creates an illusion that the face is narrower. You can pull some strands of hair out to add more illusion to the circumference of the face.
