Empowering oneself requires knowledge about who you are and what you were created to be. Our lives should also touch others lives as well. If you want more out of your life, you will have to extend yourself in helping other people and allowing your life to empower them. What are your words saying to those who you speak to? Is it empowering or encouraging them to be better human beings? Do you look for the best in others or do you point out the insignificant things that really don’t matter. What role do you play in helping your brother or sister?
To empower others, you must take a leadership role. We are all leaders in our own right. Some of us just don’t seem to want to accept it because of either selfishness or fear. You must understand that all our accomplishments are done through the efforts of other people whether you want to believe it or not. Your responsibility as a leader says a lot of how you can get people involved in creating an environment of harmony.
While you continue to empower yourself to become an excellent leader, you must draw on the strength of others who are willing to cooperate with you. You should be able to counsel them, motivate them and encourage them. Only what you do for others will last. There are some things that you won’t be able to do yourself in your quest for success because no one is altogether knowledgeable about everything. Enlisting the help of others will help you to leverage yourself to give back more because you will then have more time to do what you do best.
The close people around you that consist of your family and friends are first in line to benefit from your empowerment and being empowered by you. To get the most from your loved ones, you have to get their support to reach the pinnacle of your leadership position. Without support from family and friends, it is a very daunting task to do it on your own.
Your colleagues and associates are next in line to benefit from your empowerment and being empowered by you. People will look up to you for guidance and direction. Normally people who are successfully find that they have an impact on the people around them in more ways than one.
To empower others means that you have to be empowered to give them some of the power that you possess. To share with them the tools that have empowered you is the means by which you will get people to act on your behalf.
Being an inspiration is another way to empower others. However, first you have to be inspired. You must have a vision of what you want and be inspired to seek and find your destiny. You will then be able to use your experience and your continued maturity to empower those around you.
A coach or mentor is an example of empowering themselves while empowering others. A coach cannot motivate or coach anyone if he/she is not first inspired to change their lives and make it an example for others to follow. They would not be able to motivate and enlighten anyone. A coach is a leader who has assumed the function of empowerment to all those they meet. You can too!
