Hot yoga is something that seems to be popping up everywhere!  Have you girlfriends ever tried it?  If not, you’re going to have to!  Let me break up hot yoga for you if you’ve never, ever heard of it, so that way you can see if it is something you want to work into your normal workout routine!  Hot yoga is traditional yoga done in a room that is over 100 degrees.  It is hot, it is sticky and you sweat a lot, but it is so worth it if you are trying to lose weight!  Hot yoga will improve your muscle flexibility, as your muscles are warm instead of cold, it will make every move you make burn more calories and, if can help you, in combination with a normal workout routine lose weight quicker!  Take a look below for some of the ways that hot yoga can help you lose weight!

Looser Muscles
Hot yoga absolutely helps you with your muscle flexibility.  It’s one of the few classes you can take where your muscles are warm, instead of cold.  This will make every move a little easier and will ensure that every yoga pose that your slip into is going to have more impact.  Those type of yoga is not super fast-paced, but you do burn a lot more calories (which we’ll go over below!), so if you like fast-paced workout classes, this might not be the one for you.

Constant Sweating
You will feel healthier because not only are your sweating out all of your toxins, but you are taking in a bunch more water to make up for it.  This will leave your skin with a healthy glow and you’ll feel better overall.  While sweating might not exactly help you lose weight, you’ll gain more benefits from hot yoga because of sweating, because you are getting rid of the toxins built up in your body.

Constantly Burning of Calories
Now, onto the burning of the calories, girlfriends, with a 90-minute hot yoga class, you can burn up to 763 calories on average!  While that might not seem like a ton in the beginning, there are things that you can do to pair hot yoga with, in order to burn more calories.  Take one or two hot yoga classes a week, in conjunction with your normal workout routine and you’ll begin to notice just how flexible you are and how better your muscles feel after hot yoga!

The Poses


Finally, the last benefit of hot yoga is all about the poses.  As I’ve talked about all throughout this post, hot yoga is great because it increases your muscle flexibility and it can loosen up everything in your body.  The poses, if you really want to speed up your weight loss, just lengthen them a bit.  Stay in that downward dog a little longer, stretch a little more and you’ll see a huge difference!
